Timetable + course logistics

In person lectures will be held on Mondays, Sept 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 11:15. Lectures will be in the Gorleaus building, room DM 115 on Sept 5 and 12, and in Huygens 106 on Sept 19 and 26, both located at the Science Faculty of Leiden University. For those of who you have never been to Leiden, you can make your way to the reception at the Huygens building at Niels Bohrweg 2 and ask for further directions. These will be followed up with work sessions at 13:15 in Huygens 207. However, the first two exercise sessions will also involve (either in part or in whole) lectures by the TAs to ensure that we can get through all the material. Instead of a final exam, students will be asked to prepare a 4-5 page summary of an application of information geometry on any topic of their choosing, which will be due on Oct 10. Suggestions for special topics can be found on the special topics coffee table.

Lectures will be live streamed over zoom, and recordings will be made for posterity and posted under the material for each week which you can navigate from the course home page. There will be additional supplemental material posted each week to help solidify and contextualize your understanding.

The lecturer can be contacted via email at patil [at] lorentz.leidenuniv.nl, and the teaching assistant can be reached at shankar [at] lorentz.leidenuniv.nl
